What sets it apart

Why choose this robot

A dexterous hand moves its fingers with several motors and, in some models, measures each finger's force or touch. It is mounted on a robot arm, cobot or humanoid when a single tool must grasp very different parts. For a part that is always the same, a gripper or suction cup is still simpler, faster and more robust.

Five fingers

Grasps like a hand: fine pinch, full grip or two-finger grip.

Controlled force

Regulates grip so it does not break or deform what it holds.

Sensors

Some models sense touch at each fingertip.

Lightweight

Designed to mount on the wrist of an arm or a humanoid.

What it is used for

Typical applications

  • Hands for humanoids and cobots
  • Grasping objects of varying shapes
  • Research in manipulation and learning

Clear expectations

What it can and cannot do

It can

  • Grasp objects of different shapes and sizes without changing tools.
  • Hold fragile parts with controlled force.
  • Complete a humanoid or a research cobot.

It cannot

  • Match a gripper's speed and robustness in a repetitive task.
  • Lift heavy loads: it is designed for light objects.
  • Grasp well without programming or vision to guide it.
